It's time for another photo challenge. I'm such a slacker. I totally skipped on past last months. I was so busy that it had come and gone before I even had a chance to think about it.
This weeks challenge focuses on shadows. The first picture I took with my Ipod using the Hipstamatic camera app. Currently this is my go-to app for pictures. I love LOVE how this one turned out. Although, I do wish the van wasn't there and I could take it out but I really hate to do that unless absolutely necessary. So, I just left it.

It's the back lot of the Union Station Hotel on Broadway in Nashville. We had a blast shooting around town that day.
This next one is an oldie but a goodie. I love the shadows at work here.
Is it just me or do you picture shadows like this in black and white when you are taking the picture? I think they just look better when processed that way. When I took it I knew I would desaturate it.
Except for adding a filter to the first one (the app has several to choose from ) I didn't do any fancy editing to these.
While I'm at it I wanted to list my favorite camera apps. Like I said I use these on my Ipod but you can use them on most phones as well. I have mixed feelings about these apps because they make it all so accessible to everyone at an incredibly (in most cases free) price and I have paid a small fortune for software to do the same thing. Photography is defiantly changing and rapidly. I do see a time in the future where the large, bulky cameras that professionals currently use go the way of film. Seriously. These apps are amazing and quite frankly, it's much easier to carry around a phone or ipod and take the pics. Several phones already have megapixels large enough to make decent prints from. It's amazing to see how fast technology is changing things. My husband shot some HD video of a recent concert and it was amazing and I do mean sharp as a tac HD video.....better than my DSLR. The app cost 99 cents. See...the times they are a changing.
My Favorite Camera Apps: (at the moment anyway)
ILightningCam you can use this for fireworks too!
SlowShutter I haven't had the chance to use this one yet but the screenshots look pretty cool

I also took the plunge and signed up for Instagram. Feel free to follow me if you want. I have like, 8 followers and I'm feeling kinda left out....sniff sniff.
Well that's it for this challenge. Off to check out what the others have done.
